“Life is Hell” Proposed Short Comedy Film

The Objective

Create a 3-5 minute short film, utilizing students as crew, shot on green screen.

The Solution

I wrote an absurdist comedy short about a character (myself) who is neurotic and unhinged who sees a therapist, played by B.K. Novak, who is exceedingly strange.

The Purpose

I am a lifelong fan of absurd comedy and took this as an opportunity to better understand this work. From Monty Python to Reno 911, I have always found greater understanding and joy through absurdity.

I faced a number of production challenges during the making of this film. The audio I was given was “blown out” and very hard to tame. Some of the shots were not entirely in focus. This is understandable, as I am a student working with a crew of students. However, I was very proud of the end result.
